The Mariposa County Search and Rescuce (SAR) Team is an organization of highly trained volunteers affiliated with and trained by the Mariposa County Sheriff's Department. Many of these brave men and women are DSA members.
The team is called out to help with emergency situations all over Mariposa County, and is trained to rescue persons lost in the mountains or stranded on cliffs and rocks, in the white water of local rivers and in the backcountry of the National Forests. Parts of the Search and Rescue Team are also trained in dive and mine rescue.
The SAR Team uses modern search strategies to implement their mission, and holds regular training sessions for their members.
